 Engineering Manager

    About Yeti Software

At Yeti Software, we build the digital backbone for property maintenance and field service companies. We are a lean, high-velocity team of “humble, hungry, smart, and balanced” individuals working across multiple countries to help service companies succeed. We value practicality combined with high-tier software craftsmanship.

The Mission: Building the System of Work

We are evolving Yeti from a platform that records history into an intelligent assistant that drives the day. We are building a ‘System of Work’ where AI manages the cognitive overhead of field operations—predicting delays, automating reporting, and ensuring safety in real-time. Your job is to architect the intelligence layer that turns static data into proactive field guidance.

    The Role

We are seeking an Engineering Manager who is a technical powerhouse and a confident leader. This is a “Player-Coach” role: you will be the primary architect and lead contributor to our codebase while building the robust processes and development team culture that are essential to Yeti’s future. While we are headquartered in Vancouver, BC, this role is open to remote candidates. We value collaboration and brainstorming; as such, we require a significant overlap with North American working hours.

    Your Impact

    • Strategic Roadmap: Partner directly with leadership to translate business requirements into technical milestones.
    • Communication & Mentorship: Bridge language gaps and foster a high-performing culture by providing technical guidance in clear oral and written English.
    • Modernize & Scale: As we modernize and scale, you’ll architect the Integration layer for intelligence. You will ensure the frontend is performant and ready for the next generation of UX.
    • AI Implementation: Lead the integration of new AI-driven workflows (e.g., smart scheduling, automated reporting, and predictive analytics) into our mobile and web applications.
    • Lead by Doing: Spend roughly 20-40% of your time “in the trenches”—writing production-ready code, performing deep-dive code reviews, and architecting complex workflows.
    • Cross-functional bridge from to development team
    • Champion engineering excellence by implementing lean development processes that reduce cycle time and improve product reliability.

    Role Requirements

    • 8+ Years of professional software engineering experience, including senior or lead roles.
    • Cross-Platform Expertise: Proven track record of leading teams that ship high-quality mobile and web applications from a single, unified codebase.
    • Modern Web Mastery: Deep expertise in reactive, component-based frontend frameworks and the performance optimizations required for real-time data sync.
    • Full-Stack Architecture: Ability to design scalable APIs and backend services that support high-frequency mobile interactions and AI integrations.
    • Infrastructure Vision: Experience managing cloud-native environments that prioritize uptime and security for field-critical applications.
    • Strong knowledge of Agile delivery, modern DevOps principles, security best practices, and cloud-based application development, with demonstrated ownership of operational reliability, incident response, and root cause analysis
    • Track record of building and scaling high-performing teams and engineering culture, leading through action, accountability, and high standards, while staying hands-on and close to the codebase, tools, and systems
    • AI Delivery: Proven interest in or experience with integrating LLMs and AI services into production SaaS environments.

    Who You Are

    • A Builder: You aren’t ready to stop coding; you want to lead from the front.
    • Empathetic Leader: You understand the nuances of leading a distributed, multilingual team and prioritize clear, inclusive communication.
    • Pragmatic: You choose the right tool for the job and prioritize shipping value over chasing “hype” cycles.
    • Owner Mentality: You take responsibility for every outcome as if the company’s success and resources were your own.

    What We Offer

    • Remote work option: If located in Vancouver you will participate in face-to-face planning and strategy meetings.
    • Annual health spending account
    • $1,000 annual education budget
